Fried Egg, Red Lumpfish Caviar, Mayo, Toasted Pumpernickel
I like to keep food fun whenever I can, ultimately, though, making quite sure that it results in a great-tasting dish.
So, as I live alone, I almost always have leftover ingredients from recipes past. This morning, I saw fit to double up on the idea of an egg sandwich, adding a healthy amount of bright and briny red lumpfish caviar to a fried egg sandwich on earthy and aromatic toasted pumpernickel, with some crisp, slightly punchy sliced scallions.
A fireworks of textures and flavors were had with each luxurious yet still humble bite, allowing my tongue and palate to have as much fun as my (sometimes too) clever brain did coming up with the idea.
